District Triathlon

OUR MISSION

District Triathlon is a 501(c)(3) organization working to encourage, inspire, support and increase the participation of People of Color in triathlon and endurance sports, promote healthy lifestyles and uplift communities in DC and the Washington metropolitan area. We aren't here to be a cookie cutter Tri Club.

Coaching

District Triathlon will be offering customize Beginner training programs in 2019. Our Beginner Training program is to get newbies to their first sprint, oly or running road race.

Running

Our run program includes track, trail and road training as well as clinics. Workouts are member led and posted on our members only groupme chat for all paces and distances.

Swimming

Our member only swims are both membership and coach led every Monday & Thursday at Takoma Aquatic Facility. Details on those swims are posted weekly on our internal groupme chat.

Triathlon

Whether you're thinking about entering your very first competition or are a well accomplished struggler, our workshops will help you develop the skills necessary for your best Triathlon experience ever. 2019 We will be introducing a competitive Age Group Elite Team.

Community Building

Growing diversity in multi-sport participation along with giving back to the community we live in is a huge part of being a member of District Tri ™. Volunteer hours are mandatory to becoming a member. Each member will receive points for each team volunteer event they participate in. Once a certain number of points have been accumulated, that member will be rewarded a free membership for the following season.

Cycling

Throughout the year members post and lead their own workouts. It’s a great way to learn new routes and ride in a group. Rides are posted on social media and on our internal members only groupme for all levels and speeds. We have weekly rides with our partners Rapha CC & Arrow Bicycle.

Remi Davis’ interest in triathlons began as her goal of running half a marathon on all 7 continents was nearing completion. Within weeks of registering for her final half marathon race in Antarctica she was on to her next goal... TRIATHLONS. To begin this journey, she joined District Tri in 2017, with the sole purpose of learning the sport from others with the same interest and passion. In addition to learning the sport she also gained a family, community and lifelong friends. What she values most about this organization is that District Tri welcomes people of all shapes, sizes, and skill level. She truly believes that what unites this group is their collective desire to TRI. As President, it is her sole desire to support and carry out the goals and mission of the organization and to serve the members with great leadership, integrity, and compassion.
