We Are Tri
District Triathlon

It is District Tri’s mission to encourage, inspire and support individuals in their quest to reach multi-sport goals. District Tri is unique because it brings awareness of the sport to the greater Washington, DC minority community. Each week, our members are provided a structured program focused on improving their swim, bike and running technique.

District Triathlon offers several coaching packages to meet your individual needs. Training programs are available for triathlon (from sprint to Ironman), swimming and running (5k to marathon).

Our run program includes track, trail and road training as well as clinics. Workouts are member led and posted on the calendar for all paces and distances.

Even those who have been frustrated for years - have seen their swimming improve dramatically in just a few hours. Check the Calendar for our weekly swims.

Whether you're thinking about entering your very first competition or are a well accomplished struggler, our workshops will help you develop the skills necessary for your best Triathlon experience ever.

Community Building

Growing diversity in multi-sport participation along with giving back to the community we live in is a huge part of being a member of District Tri ™

Throughout the year members post and lead their own workouts. It’s a great way to learn new routes and ride in a group. Rides are posted on the calendar for all levels and speeds.

When I first started triathlon, it was disheartening to see that I was one of the few African-American athletes competing. I'm here to change that. Level 1 USA Triathlon Certified Coach

I am a true 80's baby, movie and music lover, avid runner and now triathlete. I was born and raised in Greensboro, NC where as a teenager I played soccer, ran cross-country and even pretended to be on my high school track team. I love physical fitness and consuming natural sources of food. In 2015, triathlons were put on my 2016 To-Do List. Soon after, I was introduced to and joined District Triathlon. With the support of Marcus Fitts and this great team I completed my first of five triathlons that year - The Reston Sprint, Hagerstown Sprint, Culpepper Sprint, Fort Richie Sprint and The Nations Tri Olympic*. 2017 will be no different! LET'S GOOO!

I'm full of jokes and commentary. My focus is to push myself beyond my limits and get those around me to do the same. My first Tri was accomplished with the support of my father and the idea that limits are walls that are meant to be scaled. I'm excited to be a part of District Triathlon.
